How to Play the Trumpet for Beginners

Lots of beginning trumpet players are inspired by a trumpet player they heard. Perhaps it was a jazz player who could scream so high the dog hid under the bed. Or maybe it was a sweet ballad that made the heart beat a little faster. It might have been the frightening brass sound of a Mahler symphony, the spirit of a dixieland trumpeter, the sharp percussiveness of a mariachi player (not to mention the tight pants!)...

Babybird/The tricks Leicester Square Theatre

Caught the enigmatic Stephen Jones at Leicester Square Theatre. Grimm's darkly unpredictable bedroom music man performed a magnificently rousing and tender show.

The tricks with their preppy power pop were uplifting and tight.

Dear Team Babybird

Hello, I am in the UK from the Caribbean and was most disappointed to find that Babybird were playing at Bestival when it was the same weekend as my brother's wedding. I was tempted to skip the wedding, but I might not have lived out the rest of the week and it just wasn't worth the risk of death by family stoning.

I am off tomorrow on a three week driving tour of Europe and had heard previously a rumour of of gigs in France. If these are still going ahead please let me know as I would give…

babybird at the Bush

Bush hall is a fab venue and shame on you if you didn't go - It's a beautiful 1930's (?) music hall style room, heigh ceilings and all that stuff, with a somewhat heath robinson stage.

It felt a bit like a sixth form common room end of year gig, it was hot and sweaty, and there weren't enough people there, but it was great stuff.

Lots of banter, which was nice and a surprise appearance from You're Gorgeous, which I really thought I'd never get to…

Support slots???

Hello people. I know this is very short notice, but does anybody out there know whom the support is for the Brighton show tomorrow?

I'm taking some friens from out of town to the gig, but they may have trouble getting here early. If I know the support I can probably wrangle them a bit earlier. I live right by the venue but they seem clueless!

Hi I'm new!

I'm a Depp-fan, I'm Danish and I came across Stepen Jones and Babybird on a Depp-fansite, where I fell in love with the Unlovable-video. Uptill now I've seen it 8 times... - I love the song!

Recently I got the Ex-Maniac album - which isn't that easy here in Denmark. - I love it! - so now I'm a Stephen Jones/Babybird-fan too!

I'm so glad, I found him!!! - and I wish, Babybird would come to Denmark some time!

I have always loved Babybird and Stephen Jones's music and now I have a place I can say it. Favourite songs:

I first fell in love with Back Together. Then I left him for Take Me Back and Bad Old Man, at the same time, If You'll Be Mine, wonderful. I love Between My Ears There's Nothing, Too Much, Dive, Old Skin, Lighter n Spoon, Divorce song and I've just bought the new album, I didn't even know about it, the album, the mini tour and I'm working away and can't get to any of the concerts. It is my dream to see Stephen and Babybird…
